Application Household kitchen foil rolls, catering foil, baking foil, wrapping foil

The 30cm width will allow you to wrap an individual item or cover a small bowl but will not be able to be used effectively to cover a large roasting pan or wrap a large piece of meat as you would need to overlap several times to make this happen. The 60cm is made for large scale commercial operations (restaurants or food manufacturers) and not practical for the average household user or smaller business because you will need to cut off extra aluminum foil when wrapping an average size bowl or doing anything else you would normally do, which creates more waste than what could be avoided and is also difficult to store compared to common kitchen cabinets that hold smaller sized foil rolls.

Heavier weight aluminum foil (both for commercial and residential applications) can be used by most customers for an extended period of time. This is particularly important for customers who use a lot of aluminum foil due to their heavier application methods (e.g., using a full roll of foil). In contrast, the lighter-weight foil (0.5-1.0 kg) can be used with equal success in all applications. All customers will fall into the same primary categories, i.e., small to medium food service establishments, large family homes, or professional chefs (at home or in catering).

The 45cm 2.5kg Heavy Duty aluminium foil is preferred by the majority of the small & medium sized (eg. but not limited to) food businesses such as cafes, bakeries, delis, food trucks, & small caterers as they are the largest users of these types of foil. These businesses also have a moderate to high volume of food preparation on a daily basis, for example, by wrapping sandwiches, wraps, and baked goods, lining catering trays, covering prepared foods for catering, and packaging take-out food.

In addition, the 45cm size is suitable for their needs as it fits over a standard commercial baking sheet and/or catering pan without waste. The weight (2.5 kg) is also considered to be an ample amount of foil for a business as it allows business owners to keep an adequate supply of foil without the need to change out rolls frequently, which is paramount to maintaining workflow efficiency during peak hours. Using a heavy-duty gauge of foil is important because it allows for the easy handling of hot, sticky foods (e.g., freshly baked pastries or grilled meats) without the foil tearing or rupturing, and also provides a strong seal to prevent leakage during transport. For example, a deli might use foil to wrap large sandwiches or subs; an example of a small catering company would be one that covers buffet trays with foil in order to keep food warm at an event.

Households consisting of five-plus members are likely to use the 2.5 kg 45 cm Heavy Duty foil rolls as they often will use aluminium foil to cover meals when storing leftover food, line oven trays with heavy-duty foil to cook large meals for their families, or as a method of wrapping up grilled portions of meat/vegetables and wrapping foods in bulk prior to freezing. A roll with a 2.5 kg weight means fewer trips to the store, and a 45 cm (18 in) roll is ideally sized for covering or wrapping larger sized portions of pasta (9x13 in pan) by using one piece of heavy-duty foil rather than creating smaller individual pieces and using two pieces of lighter-weight foil for larger portions. A roll with heavy-duty weight is very good for outdoor grilling of corn, potatoes or vegetables, as there is no concern of ripping or puncturing the roll from a sharp object.

This variation is also designed for other groups of users that are serious cooks, bakers, and part-time caterers. Many of these users are engaged in complex cooking processes, such as roasting large cuts of protein (meat), smoking ribs, making large quantities of pastries, or preparing meals for a party. For those types of processes, the foil needs to be durable enough to withstand high levels of heat (up to 220C) as well as heavy usage without tearing when wrapping around the bones, sharp edges of meat (or other items), or large amounts of ingredients at once.Additionally, because of the width of the roll (45cm) and the fact that most baking pans (Dutch ovens, roasting pans, sheet pans, etc.) are larger than that size, the 2.5kg roll provides enough foil for extended cooking times and/or larger amounts of food. In contrast to the lighter roll that may warp or tear, the heavier-duty version maintains its integrity when cooking at higher temperatures, resulting in a consistent done product every time.

The ability of the Heavy Duty Foil to be reused multiple times means that less foil will be consumed, and therefore there will be less waste generated, than with lighter-weighted rolls that can tear easily and need to be disposed of after one use. The 45cm width significantly reduces trimming waste because it will fit most typical home kitchens as well as smaller commercial equipment. The 2.5kg weight also provides the user with a lower cost per linear meter when compared to rolls of smaller dimensions, making it a cost-effective choice for repeat users.
