Description
8011 O aluminum foil is very versatile and is suitable for many different types of aluminum foil; the types of aluminum foil that can be manufactured with 8011 O can typically be divided into four application categories—household/aluminum, food packaging, industrial, and pharmaceutical. Each type of aluminum foil that is made out of 8011 O uses the unique properties of the foil material to produce foils that satisfy the requirements of the specific applications.
Description
There are many household aluminum foils to choose from, but 8011 O is often the most widely used. Because of their ductility, they can easily wrap around food that may be outside of the box when it comes to shape; therefore, 8011 O aluminum foil will not tear easily when wrapping food. In general, thicknesses range from 0.010 mm to 0.030 mm; however, there are many widths available based on what your local households require; thus, using these foils for oven trays and for wrapping up leftovers in ovens will also be beneficial.
Specification
Just like household aluminum foil, food packaging aluminum foil also uses 8011 O for candy, chocolate, dairy products, and meals ready to eat (RTE). The fact that the foil has been annealed completely means that it can be formed into various shapes easily, as well as the fact that its barrier characteristics (light, moisture and air) help keep foods' quality when refrigerated and/or frozen. In addition to aluminum foil's non-toxicity and tastelessness, it has been independently certified by the FDA, SGS and ISO for direct contact with food.

8011 O is often used in industrial aluminum foil, especially in the industries of electronics, automotive, and construction. The electronic industry uses 8011 O as a shielding material to protect electronic components from electromagnetic interference (EMI) because of the good conductivity of aluminum. The automotive and construction industries use 8011 O as heat insulation and moisture sealing, taking advantage of the flexibility of aluminum to form around complex structures. 8011 O is also used in pharmaceutical packaging, where its barrier and safe properties help to ensure that medications retain their integrity.

8011 Alloy has great overall characteristics. As one of the members of the 8xxx series aluminium alloys (Al / Mg / Si alloy), it has been produced with additional iron and silicon which improves its strength, corrosion resistance and thermal conductivity. Compared to the other alloys of steel, the 8011 alloy has a lower melting temperature making it easy to roll into thinner sheets of foil during production, while its corrosion resistance assists with long-lasting performance in both dry and wet environments.

The cost effectiveness of 8011 O Foil is a major reason why this product is widely used today. The raw materials used to make the alloy are abundant and inexpensive, and the manufacturing process used for production is well established, resulting in substantially lower manufacturing costs than for ultra-pure aluminium foil products. It makes economic sense to use 8011 O Foil for large quantities of foils for both residential and commercial use without jeopardizing quality.

In addition to 8011 O Foil being an economical choice, it is also environmentally friendly and recyclable. Through recycling 8011 O Foil, only 5% of the energy required to create new foil is used in the recycling process, allowing for the reduction of CO2 emissions into the atmosphere and decreasing the overall environmental impact. As such, many environmentally conscious manufacturers and consumers have turned to 8011 O Foil due to its strong environmental benefits.

While the major aluminum foil alloys 8011, 8079, and 1235 have similarities in their uses, there are many differences related to composition, properties and applications. Understanding these differences helps the converter find the appropriate content.

8011 is an "8" series (Al-Mg-Si) alloy that is approximately 97.5% aluminum, 1.0-1.5% iron, 0.6-1.0% silicon and very small amounts of Mg. Due to its tensile strength, flexibility and cost effectiveness, it is the most frequently used general purpose foil alloy. Its fully annealed (O) condition makes it suited to domestic food packaging and light duty industrial applications because it has ductility and sufficient other properties to keep from tearing.

8079 is also an "8" series (Al-Mg-Fe-Si) alloy, but its Mg content (1.8 -2.8%) is much greater than that of 8011. Thus, it has superior strength and resistance to corrosion, which makes it suitable for heavy duty industrial packaging, marine environments, and high temperature applications. Additionally, 8079 has a higher price and greater difficulty in producing than 8011, making it suitable for specialized applications where production of lots of strength is necessary.

Being a 1-series alloy (commercially pure aluminum, containing 99.35% aluminum) with few impurities, 1235 exhibits excellent ductility and conductivity, making it the best candidate for applications that require both high formability and good electrical conductivity, as would be required in flexible packaging, decorative foil and shielding for electromagnetic devices. But because 1235 is weaker and softer than 8011, its production costs are higher due to the greater purity of aluminum. 1235 is not suitable for heavy-duty or high-temperature uses.

So, generally speaking, 8011 provides the best performance to cost ratio for common applications; 8079 provides the best performance for applications requiring corrosion resistance and high strength; and 1235 provides the ideal properties for applications needing high ductility and conductivity. Therefore, in most home and food packaging cases, 8011 O will provide both flexibility and low cost.

When searching for high-quality food-grade 8011 O aluminum foil, please consider HTMM Aluminum Foil as your source - we are a reputable manufacturer and exporter with more than 15 years of experience doing business in this industry. Since our inception, we have consistently produced food grade aluminum foil to meet the highest standards of quality control and international standards to ensure the safety and uniformity of our products.

HTMM’s advanced machinery includes high-speed rolling mills, slitters/annealing ovens to control the thickness, width, and surface quality of foils precisely. Foil is produced from aluminium ingots which are free from defects like pinholes, spots, or uneven thickness by ensuring that all raw materials used for production are of high quality. The full-process quality system establishes a strict set of procedures for each stage of production to ensure that no defects arise during the processing of foils.

All of HTMM's 8011 O foil complies with international standards (FDA, SGS, ISO, GB/3198-2010). As such, 8011 O foils are non-toxic and tasteless and safe for direct food use. HTMM also provides customised services that allow customers to select the size of foil they require, including thicknesses/widths and packaging requirements.
