Description

The primary use of the container foil raw material (8011 H24) is for finished aluminum products such as pie pans, food trays, baking dishes, airline meals trays, and to-go boxes. The mechanical characteristics of container foil are designed to meet the requirements of a completed rigid package.

The foil is delivered in a large roll format to the container manufacturer, where the manufacturer will stamp the foil with their logos and the type of container they produce prior to the container being formed into its final use.

Specification

In order to manufacture foil, the process begins with a cast and rolled aluminum process that creates a foil of the required gauge. After cast and rolled, the foil is then cast and rolled a second time to make the foil thicker and harder before being cut to size. After the second casting and rolling a third time, the foil will be treated at temperatures that create a temper of H24. The foil will have precisely the right amount of heat treatment and rolling reduction to ensure that the mechanical properties of the foil are consistent and reproducible from batch to batch.
