This specialized foil (thin but tough aluminium material) has many applications and is very popular with manufacturers of rigid packaging/containers; it is a great solution for making rigid food containers such as those used for ready meals, takeaway meals (take-away), and bakery trays/containers because of its deep-draw forming capabilities, strength (particularly stackability) and leak-proof performance.
This highly engineered foil material is the perfect lid material for all types of dairy cups (such as yoghurt and pudding) and plastic containers, which need precise tear open features and a secure top closure. In the technical and industrial sectors, the foil is fabricated into gaskets, shields, lightweight structural components in automobiles/electronics, etc. In addition to its versatility in these applications, its increased rigidity allows for its use as blister lidding for pharma companies that package larger doses of medication, as well as in the packaging of high-value electronic components during shipping and storage. Because of its consistent quality and engineered properties, it is a dependable, cost-effective raw material to use, reducing downtime and waste due to excess production, when used in high-volume production environments.
Bestselling Countries
Highly engineered products have the largest market in large scale manufacturing regions with a high degree of precision and quality. As of October 2023, most of the consumption of these highly engineered products is within Europe (Germany, Italy, France and UK) in support of industrial manufacturing of food packaging, food containers and industrial components, etc.; while in the USA and Canada, a significant source of demand is from both Foodservice Packaging and industrial sectors, respectively.
Growing production capabilities in Asia with a growing number of Advanced Manufacturing Economies (Japan, South Korea, etc.) are also beginning to specify these highly engineered products as high-quality export packaging, including Automotive manufacturing applications. There are growing markets for highly engineered products in Australia and New Zealand and various Middle Eastern countries (UAE and Saudi Arabia) that are leveraging these products for container manufacturing and construction applications. Industries looking for consistency, certified performance and minimum Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) vs. initial purchase price are driving the increased adoption of these products.

FAQ
Can this foil be used as lidding material? Yes, this foil is ideal for use as lidding material on dairy cups, dessert cups, and meal trays. The H24 temper offers excellent rigidity for mechanical handling during machine operations, while providing the right amount of peelability during the peeling process. It is easy to apply a heat-seal coating on the different cup materials.
What are the average mechanical properties I can expect? Averages based on testing for the 8011-H24 50 microns thick foil are:
Tensile Strength: 160-200 MPa
Yield Strength: 140-180 MPa
Elongation: 3-8%
Exact values will be provided on the Certificate of Analysis (CoA) with each shipment.
How do you provide test certificates and traceability? Yes, every shipment will be accompanied by a CoA detailing the key mechanical properties (tensile strength, yield strength, elongation) and confirming compliance to the specified standards (i.e. FDA). Complete traceability to production batches is maintained.
What is your production lead time? For standard specifications, the production lead time is approximately 4-5 weeks after confirmation of order. For custom tempers, unique coatings, or special dimensions, production lead time may be extended to 6-8 weeks and you'll receive a concrete production schedule upon confirmation of order.
Can we fine-tune the characteristics for our die and equipment?Yes, this is one of our primary offerings. We will work within the H2x temper category based on your tooling specifications and forming techniques to provide you with the right balance of strength and elongation to enable you to maximize material yield and product performance according to your specific application.
Is the foil approved for food-grade use? When we produce 8011 foil, we use lubricants and processes that comply with food-contact requirements based on our standard manufacturing processes. The foil's composition meets all requirements from FDA (USA) and EU 10/2011 standards for food-contact materials. We can provide full ISO 22000 certification if required for your documentation.
How do you package your industrial coils? Our industrial coils are wound securely around a solid core. They are then wrapped with multiple layers of protection: the first layer being an inner liner (often paper or film), the next layer being heavy-duty waterproof and tear-resistant plastic, and finally being strapped to the wooden pallet or steel enclosure for maximum protection in transit, whether by ocean or land.
